The Perfect Grilled Chicken Recipes for Your Barbecue Night

Hosting a barbecue seems like tedious work – worrying about what dishes to serve your guests, going grocery shopping and working behind the grill for most of the event. But hosting barbecues can be an enjoyable experience when planned out properly and if you have the right grilling accessories. If it’s your first time to do so, opt to serve grilled chicken – it’s cheaper than beef plus you’ll be assured that your guests, including children will enjoy it.

Here are some delicious recipes for grilled chicken that you should try:

1. Grilled Chicken and Pasta Surprise

What you need:

• 4 chicken breast halves (boneless and skinless)
• 1 head Romaine lettuce, chopped
• 6 cherry tomatoes, chopped
• 1 red onion, chopped
• 1 cup cubed mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup rotini pasta
• Steak seasoning to taste

Season both sides of chicken breast with steak seasoning. Pre-heat grill to high heat and lightly oil grates. Cook chicken until juices run clear, 8-10 minutes per side. Once cooked, allow to cool before cutting into strips. In a large pot, bring pasta to a boil over salted water until al dente, then drain. In a large bowl, mix lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cheese. Toss with pasta and chicken to serve.

2. Five-Spice Grilled Chicken

What you need:

• 1 whole chicken, cut in half
• 1 lime, juiced
• 3 cloves garlic, crushed
• 2 tsp. grated ginger
• 1 tbsp. fish sauce
• 1 tbsp. Chinese five-spice powder
• 1 tbsp. rice vinegar
• 2 tsp. hot chili paste
• 1 tsp. soy sauce

In a medium bowl, mix together lime juice, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, five-spice powder, rice vinegar, hot chili paste and soy sauce. Pour mixture into a large re-sealable plastic bag then add chicken halves. Coat chicken evenly with marinade, seal and refrigerate for 6 hours. When ready, pre-heat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil grates. Remove chicken halves from plastic bag and remove excess marinade. Cook chicken skin-side down for 2 minutes then move to indirect heat. Cook for 30-45 minutes until well-browned and meat is no longer pink in the center.

3. Italian-Style Grilled Chicken Wings

What you need:

• 1 1/2 kg. chicken wings
• 1/2 cup + 1 tsp soy sauce
• 1/2 cup Italian-style salad dressing
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/4 cup hot pepper sauce

In a large re-sealable plastic bag, combine chicken wings, 1/2 soy sauce and salad dressing. Turn to coat. Refrigerate for 4 hours. When ready, melt butter in a small saucepan then add 1 tsp. soy sauce and hot pepper sauce. Remove from heat and reserve. Pre-heat grill to medium heat. Remove chicken wings from plastic bag and remove excess marinade. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally. Allow to cool, pour butter mixture over wings then serve.
